CORE JOB DUTIES 

• Manage and oversee the timely and accurate preparation, submission and payment of US and Canadian indirect tax returns on a monthly basis.
• Manage and oversee the timely and accurate preparation, submission and payment of state and local real and personal property tax returns on a monthly basis.
• Oversee and manage the process of customer tax exemptions and the corresponding tax exemption certificates.
• Responsible for managing and implementing indirect tax technology to drive automation within the tax processes. Research, evaluate, and recommend to management any technology enablers.
• Manage all indirect tax jurisdictional correspondence, including audits, notices, refund claims, etc.
• Review monthly tax account reconciliation and journal entry for posting. Analyze applicable accounting treatment and reserve allocations.
• Collaborate with procurement, business operations, IT, and various functional teams to integrate sales tax requirements into their workflow and develop standard operating procedures.
• Research and analyze complex tax laws and provide determination of tax treatments arising from business initiatives.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline
• 5+ years tax relevant experience in a public accounting firm and/or within the tax function of a multinational company
• Experience with indirect tax management software is a requirement, experience with implementing such software is a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Excellent tax technical research skills and proficient with tax research software
