The Opportunity:

LifeScan is recruiting for a Manager, Financial Reporting who will be reporting to the Global Corporate Controller. This position will be Hybrid and will be based out of Malvern, PA.

Job Focus:

LifeScan is searching for a Financial Reporting Manager to join the Global Accounting Controlling Team. This position is a key leader within the professional accounting organization and is responsible for a wide-range of financial reporting, technical accounting, and consolidation activities. The role has one direct report and frequently supervises third parties engaged to support specific project needs. The role will report to the Global Corporate Controller. This role will be Hybrid and will be based out of Malvern, PA.

Responsibilities will include:

Quarterly Financial Reporting

  • Monitor the monthly consolidation and elimination process within Hyperion Financial Management ("HFM")
  • Execute financial reporting review controls and ensure documentation is of high quality.
  • Draft quarterly financial statements and any new disclosures required.
  • Review other periodic financial reporting deliverables.


Global Statutory Financial Reporting

  • Coordinate all statutory financial reporting and audit deliverables for approximately 20 foreign entities.
  • Ensure various third-party support teams are fully aligned at each juncture in the process.
  • Provide varying levels of accounting, financial reporting, and audit support to each entity, in some cases acting as the controller.
  • Identify obstacles and proactively resolve to ensure filing deadlines are met timely.


Lease Accounting

  • Act as the Administrator of the Visual Lease lease accounting software.
  • Ensure Visual Lease and general ledger continuously remain synched.
  • Develop quarterly incremental borrowing rates for use within lease calculations.
  • Ensure a robust suite of internal controls addressing lease accuracy and completeness is operating effectively.
  • Review all manner of new contracts for embedded lease considerations.


Technical Accounting Other Projects

  • Provide support on technical accounting matters that arise by either drafting position papers or supervising the work of others.
  • Work directly with external auditors with the discussion and resolution of such matters.
  • Own certain complex accounting areas, such as defined benefit plan accounting and goodwill, including the documentation of annual controls and valuations.
  • Assess the impact of newly issues accounting pronouncements and document LifeScan's position.


Job Requirements

Requirements for this role include:

  • CPA is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of audit and/or financial reporting experience is required.
  • Possesses strong technical accounting and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates an ability to manage global third parties effectively.
  • Strong financial analytical skills.
  • Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) software experience (preferred but not required).
  • Visual Lease accounting software experience (preferred but not required).


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
