Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Manager, Accounting leads a team of Accounting professionals to achieve business objectives and results, and develops skills, knowledge, and abilities of the individuals on the team. This role emphasizes on developing team members and building team efficiencies by utilizing conceptual and people skills.

The specific focus of this manager role is revenue accounting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Align team's work and priorities to the broader functional team strategy to support and align to Company strategic vision and goals.
  • Ability to scope future projects and work to align to vision and strategic direction. Organize resources and people in a planful and purposeful manner to achieve results.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures for efficiency improvements.
  • Complete first level review of prepared workpapers and provide feedback for improvements and/or corrections.
  • Ability to tackle issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
  • Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
  • Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
  • Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ability to create strong moral and engagement on team.
  • Allow team members to finish and be responsible for their work.
  • Ability to make decisions and takes action without needing the whole picture.
  • Ability to find common ground and gain cooperation with minimal noise during times of conflict.
  • Ability to identify and communicate areas of development opportunities to team members.
  • Ability to understand which projects, tasks, and assignments best develop skills.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work designated schedule.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
  • Ability to travel 20% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 6+ years of Accounting experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or directing people and/or project teams.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with revenue accounting at a publicly traded company.
