Job Description DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Build and maintain financial, economic, and quantitative models, as well as risk analysis and valuation tools, in order to analyze Latin America (LATAM) financial markets and products, and provide investment recommendations based on results of analysis. Publish research and analytical findings on LATAM financial markets and products. Based on analytical findings, give investment recommendations to investors in the U.S., Europe, and LATAM regions related to different LATAM products (such as currencies, local currency bonds, local bond/rate markets inflation-linked assets, and interest rate derivatives). Author a periodical LATAM Flows publication. Collaborate with colleagues in Research as well as in Sales and Trading to support the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) line of business. Create strategy presentations for clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Econometrics, or related field of study plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience as Credit Risk Analyst or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following skills: financial industry; fixed income financial markets products including bonds, inflation-linkers, and swaps; FX products including currencies, forwards, and FX options; financial product modelling and financial mathematics; econometrics techniques including time-series model-building using panel regressions and Monte Carlo algorithms; econometric packages; financial market debt sustainability analysis; using models built in MS Excel to perform valuations, regressions, comparative analysis, and track economic positioning and flows; MS Excel programming including Visual Basic; financial software programs including Bloomberg and Haver Analytics; MS PowerPoint; interpreting the impact of Latin America (LATAM) macroeconomics, politics, growth, inflation, and Central Banks' monetary policy frameworks on LATAM financial markets; LATAM investment industry, including LATAM pension funds and LATAM insurance companies' balance sheets, investment plans, and regulatory limits; implementing risk and reward strategies applied to high volatility countries in LATAM; and building and maintaining high-profile relationships with a diverse set of clients.
