Mercer's Wealth practice is looking for the following two positions based out of the Chicago or St. Louis office:

Investment Consulting Analyst

What can you expect?
  • An opportunity that is a direct path to become a client facing lead investment consultant
  • This position will be responsible for supporting the ongoing provision of investment advice to a wide range of institutional clients (e.g., defined benefit, defined contribution, other qualified and non-qualified investment plans, etc.
  • Analyzing different investment markets, managers' investment styles and portfolio characteristics and evaluating their impacts on investment performance
  • Interfacing with clients on a regular basis - notifying them of critical issues in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assisting in the management of all aspects of consulting relationships for assigned clients including:
    • Proposing and scheduling meetings
    • Managing multiple projects and keeping the team informed of the status of any such projects
    • Overseeing information that is disseminated to clients

We will count on you:
  • Examine and monitor developments at investment management firms and communicate to clients as appropriate
  • Act as project manager - ensuring that high quality client deliverables are delivered on deadline, delegating work to analysts, providing guidance and ensuring peer review
  • Produce accurate and detailed client reports through analysis of client-specific investment data including ongoing investment performance and manager monitoring
  • Communicate with investment managers and custodians to gather and/or clarify client-specific data for reporting or any other client related matters
  • Play a key role in investment manager searches, investment structure reviews, mutual fund selection, asset allocation studies, new business presentations and other investment-related activities
  • Attend and participate in quarterly or ad-hoc client meetings
  • Analyze and edit investment policy statements
  • Conduct strategic portfolio structure and asset allocation analysis

What you need to have:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/institution
  • 2+ years of investment-related experience
  • Strong analytical, project management and communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn and keep up to date with the investment industry and market conditions
  • Good technical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
