As Head of Tax, you will help scale and manage Faire’s global tax strategy, planning, reporting, audits and compliance. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and data-driven environment and will report to the Controller.
As a Head of Tax You Will
- Oversee completion of global income tax returns including all related analysis and support
- Manage audits of federal and state income tax and state local filings
- Oversee the preparation of all jurisdictional income tax provision including all financial reporting disclosures
- Create global tax strategy to optimize for profitability and cash flow
- Collaborate with Legal on entity structures and work cross functionally with go-to-market on new market launches
- Establish formal tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SOX and US GAAP
- Work extensively with business functions to ensure compliance with indirect tax (i.e Product, Engineering, Legal, etc.)
- Perform tax due diligence for M&A activities, collaborate with deal teams and provide ad hoc advice on all tax matters
- Manage outside tax consultants and advisors
- Support various financial internal and external audits, domestic and international,
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience of relevant tax experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and multinational in-house corporate environment
- Marketplace industry experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- Helped scale private companies from pre-IPO to IPO
- Ability to think across multiple dimensions of a business and work cross-functionally to deliver results
