We're looking for a Head of Global Tax who will manage all aspects of SailPoint's global tax strategy, planning, reporting, audits and compliance. This leader must possess an entrepreneurial spirit to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, and be highly self-motivated. This position will provide leadership, guidance and assistance across all tax-related matters, and will develop and refine best practices across all insurance related issues. This strategic, but hands-on role will report directly to the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer.
Essential Duties

  • Maintains tax processes and controls in line with the company's global tax strategy
  • Identifies process improvement activities to redesign, standardize and automate tax accounting and compliance processes
  • Manages all aspects of quarterly and annual financial reporting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740 (U.S. GAAP)
  • Interacts directly with external auditors and tax/legal advisors
  • Assists and coordinates the preparation of annual federal, state and local, and foreign tax returns
  • Prepares quarterly estimated taxable income and tax payment calculations
  • Ensures effective design, operation and monitoring of global tax controls and maintains compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
  • Ensures compliance with the company's transfer pricing policy and prepares and maintains transfer pricing analysis and contemporaneous documentation
  • Maintains up-to-date tax and accounting technical knowledge monitoring foreign, federal, and state and local tax legislations and identifies and analyzes potential tax impact to the company
  • Assists and coordinates the company's defense for foreign, federal and state audits
  • Conducts complex international, federal, and state tax research
  • Maintains indirect tax and transaction tax compliance in applicable jurisdictions including sales tax, property tax and VAT
  • Assists and identifies international, federal, and state and local, tax planning opportunities
  • Manages the Company's risk management program, including claims, renewals, contract language and requirements, etc.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably with a mix of public accounting and multinational corporate environment
  • Technology industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; Masters degree preferred
  • Insurance experience a plus
  • Experience with a wide variety of tax functions and areas including: compliance, accounting, planning, income tax, sales and use tax, property tax
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP accounting concepts and principles (particularly ASC 740) is essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of federal, international, and state and local income tax technical concepts
  • Strong cross-functional abilities with multi-faceted analysis and ad-hoc analysis skills
