WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
Our team of technology finance professionals – with backgrounds in finance, banking, consulting, and engineering – acts as critical partners to organizations across the business, helping them inform, drive, and support important decisions in all functions. We are deeply involved in analyses in key areas ranging from sales capacity to data center strategy modeling, and everything in between. We are looking for an experienced leader to pilot Strategic Finance support for our Product, Engineering, Technical Operations, and Business Development teams. The position offers exposure and accountability to Box’s executive leadership team, a platform to inform significant decisions, and the opportunity to drive strategic projects. You will directly impact our ability to build on our innovative, market-leading product position and scale our infrastructure as we continue to grow.
YOUR IMPACT AT BOX
- Manage the team responsible for our end-to-end financial planning and forecasting (monthly, quarterly, and annually) for the Product, Engineering, Technical Operations, and Business Development teams.
- Embed within partner organizations and provide strategic and operational finance support to executive leaders
- Be an authority on our product, infrastructure, and partnerships; analyzing and reporting on critical metrics like gross margin and engineering development innovation velocity
- Partner closely with executive leaders to assess and balance resource allocations on a rolling basis in a data-drive, scalable manner
- Drive highly-complex, ross-functional analyses and business cases to influence investment decisions and business strategy
- Provide and guide the team through career development and growth opportunities
- Collaborate closely with business partners and team to implement and execute scalable processes for tracking and managing funding requests, triaging intra-quarter puts/takes, and assessing variances to plan
- Guide team in month-end-close process, collaborating closely with our corporate finance and accounting teams
WHO YOU ARE
- Extensive professional experience, including time spent supporting Product and/or Engineering organizations; other experience in investment banking, consulting, or finance and operations within a top technology company is a plus
- Fast-paced, dynamic team environments are your jam & you enjoy nurturing and growing talent
- You are a poised communicator and know how and when to voice your point of view in a room of senior executives
- You can navigate networks of systems and people to find the information you need and influence key strategic decisions
- You’re a structured thinker and have a command of “the details,” but don’t get lost in them; you can tell the story behind the data through relevant insights and conclusions
- Executing complex projects with multiple contributors and constituents comes naturally to you
- You take pride in your analytical and financial modeling skills and can teach them to others
