Microsoft's Operations Finance Revenue Recognition team is responsible for the accuracy for billions of dollars of revenue across the world for US GAAP and local statutory reporting. We are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative people leader to join our team that thrives in a dynamic and complex environment.   • Lead a team of US Based Revenue Recognition SMEs who evaluate customer agreements and document the proper revenue accounting under ASC 606.
  • Ensure contract review and accounting processes follow the company's documented policies.
  • Guide team during pre-deal negotiation engagement with Deal Desk and through completion of complex reviews
  • Review teamwork product and sign off on completeness and accuracy.
  • Proactively anticipate program challenges and collaborate across functional teams and organizations to solve.
  • Lead global processes such as prioritization and innovation functional areas to ensure capacity optimization and deliver on time, quality quarterly close results.
  • Ensures the KPIs of the program are met on time and report results to management.
  • Serves as a sounding board for accounting, compliance, business consultations with stakeholder LT.
  • Enhance existing operational controls and processes
  • Drive innovation and define system requirements to ensure scalable process and reportable data is available for org management.
  • Participate in hiring activities and onboard
  • Lead on process improvement initiatives to proactively address business change.
  • Manage and monitor vendor engagement to optimize productivity and manage cost.
  • Develops the tactics to setup processes and procedures to capture, track, and report productivity metrics.

Qualifications Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 7+ years accounting or finance experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 6+ years accounting or finance experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong people and project management skills.
  • Ability to understand complex business structures and collaborate effectively across all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including active listening and the ability to articulate complex issues to a variety of audiences
  • Highly adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an emphasis on quality
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize competing projects and adhere to deadlines
  • People management experience and high emotional intelligence, ability to build & sustain relationships at multiple levels across Microsoft
  • CPA designation, or equivalent international certification
  • 8+ years of experience working in a combination of auditing & revenue accounting in the software industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 10+ years of accounting or finance experience AND 3+ years experience managing direct reports
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 9+ years accounting or finance experience AND 2+ years experience managing direct reports.
  • Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
