Manager, SEC & External Reporting – External Reporting

The Manager of SEC and External Reporting will be a core member of our External Reporting team and is critical to the SEC and external reporting function to ensure timely SEC filings, as well as support requests from the external auditors and internal audit.

We are seeking an accounting professional who has experience in public accounting and/or a desire/experience to work in industry practice with a services technology company.

This position will report to the Global Head of External Reporting and Technical Accounting. 

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate information requests and collaborate with other groups and key contributors to SEC reports to obtain the necessary information needed to draft the appropriate disclosures in 10-K and 10-Qs, including Legal, Finance, Tax, and FP&A
  • Maintain SEC calendar to inform parties of necessary deadlines and monitor the progress with internal and external parties, including external auditors to ensure and complete timely SEC filings
  • Review and prepare supporting documentation and analyses to support the financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A disclosures, including tie-out support binders
  • Prepare GAAP disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with accounting and SEC guidelines and completeness of financial statements
  • Support the earnings release process, including review and tie out of press releases, earnings call scripts, and investor presentations
  • Participate in communications with external auditors on financial statement and accounting issues to align with external auditors on company positions on disclosures and issues (will require collaboration with technical accounting)
  • Review quarterly consolidated balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses and the statement of cash flows
  • Manage the detailed iXBRL tagging process of financing statements and footnotes (knowledge of iXBRL requirements is a plus)
  • Responsible for maintaining strong internal controls around the external reporting process to ensure compliance with internal audit and SOX requirements

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • CPA required
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience 
  • Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC disclosure and reporting requirements
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict reporting deadlines.
  • Stellar project and process management skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and strong intuition for business.
  • Highest standards of accuracy, organization and precision.
  • Ability to work in distributed global work environment, working closely with others in other time zones and locations, frequently
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of integrity and accountability
  • Ability to proactively and independently learn business applications, accounting systems, and reporting tools
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, with competing and deadline-sensitive priorities
  • Excellent team player with an ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization, domestically and internationally
  • Entrepreneurial minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and succeed
