OUR TEAM

Kinship is looking for an experienced Global Financial Controller to lead our controllership function. You will report to our CFO, partner with our leadership teams across Kinship’s global organization, and work in tandem with the Mars Petcare controller organization. You will be responsible for leading the function, maintaining and improving the controls and processes of month-end-close, reporting, operations and M&A activities. You will need to be hands-on, self-starting and a detailed-oriented individual. As a core leader of the finance team, you will be responsible for inspiring your team, peers, and leadership, and building an effective and engaged team while supporting their development.


HOW YOU’LL HELP EVERYONE PET PARENT LIKE A PRO

  • Ongoing development of the company’s global accounting operations - need to be able to get down into the details to understand and build best practices and build the team and infrastructure to support growth
  • Oversee the end-to-end controllership function
  • Transition the organization to a new enterprise accounting and reporting systems
  • Own & implement revenue recognition (ASC 606) for current and new contracts
  • Manage AR/AP, the monthly/annual close process, and the generation of standard financial reports
  • Consolidate financials of all subsidiaries
  • Oversee the international accounting of our subsidiaries
  • Build and prepare the accounting practice and operations for international expansion
  • Manage regulatory filings and audits as needed
  • Assess, articulate and quantify potential financial, regulatory and operational risks associated with all business growth and accounting processes.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with leaders across functions including Data, Product, Engineering, Business Development/Partnerships, Operations R&D, Finance
  • Directly manage and coach 3-4 direct reports
  • Support the ongoing development of the entire controllership practice through introduction of strong practices, processes, tools and close mentorship of both direct reports and broader team

Role specific expertise:

  • 10+ years of experience in controllership function. Preferable experience in a hyper growth environment and public company
  • Change management and/or ERP implementation (NetSuite or others) and governance. International implementation experience preferred
  • Extensive experience with processes in Finance, Accounting or Controlling; comprehensive experience in process design and/or optimization
  • Experience with working with a global team in different time zones
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) to connect and collaborate effectively with a diverse set of peers and stakeholders; constructive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisive action on process improvement issues
  • Must be an analytical thinker, comfortable taking initiative in situations where thought leadership is either absent or unclear
  • Open minded and culturally sensitive; well-structured and self-drive work approach; innovation driven
  • Qualified Accountant - CPA or equivalent
