Overview
The trading desk needs a senior leader dedicated to the correspondent mandatory trading process. This individual will work closely with the Correspondent Lending Group (CLG) in executing trades and developing structured trade ideas. Responsibilities will include building out the trading platform, hedge daily mandatory trade position, business development, and daily competitive analysis.
Job Description

  • Oversee all of agency whole loan acquisition and hedge activities
  • Strengthen relationship with all correspondent via proactive business development activities
  • Develop structured pricing trades to increase volume and market penetration percentage
  • Build an extensive commitment desk platform to accommodate volume growth
  • Work with other members of the trading desk to ensure best execution are implemented to rate sheet
  • Work in conjunction with CLG to ensure PennyMac pricing is competitive in the market place
  • Manage a team of traders that will be both effective and efficient in handling all agency whole loan trading
  • Publish weekly reports outlining acquisition activities and make any strategic pricing proposals
  • Complete special assignments or product development necessary to support business strategy
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical and sound judgment skills
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently

  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
