Fraud Strategist
About the roleÂ
We are hiring for a Fraud Strategist on our policy team. As a strategist, you will work with our operations, analytics, engineering, data science and program manager partners to ensure the most effective projects are prioritized to meet our long term goals. Goals will be based around empathizing with our customer pain points, and working to improve the experience, while also ensuring bad actors are unable to exploit our good members or monetize in our platform. The ongoing pursuit of creating a fraud free, frictionless experience for our members is never ending, but is forever rewarding and exciting.
For Colorado based roles:Â In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $160,500 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Prioritize the most impactful projects by estimating negative impact / friction to good members, fraud exposure, and operational overheads.
- Develop trusting relationships with Engineering, Product counterparts, and other major internal stakeholders as well as external partnersÂ
- Partner with stakeholders, problem solving to derive solutions for complex risk problems that both minimizes good member friction and neutralizes fraud attack vectors
- Lead partners and stakeholders in aligning on the importance of the development of the risk controls and tools to continue scaling the business
- Own and drive delivery of multiple large cross-functional initiatives, potentially across multiple external partners
- Build and analyze multiple data sources to determine a data backed decision for project prioritization.
To thrive in this role, you have
- 8+ years of fintech, or financial services experience
- 6+ years of fraud mitigation strategy experience
- 2+ years experience presenting and persuading senior management of the best course of action
- Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge skills to build data backed decisioning; Python experience is preferredÂ
- Strong time management skills; ability to troubleshoot, juggle multiple projects and prioritize workloads
- Experience in leading multiple large cross-team initiatives
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal; confidence in facilitating cross-functional team meetings to achieve results
