It's expected that the company's entire strategic business decision-making process be informed and measured using the abundance of data available to us and the Finance team enables this to happen in a sustainable and scalable way. About the job:
The FP&A Manager will be responsible for cross functional finance and analysis support across Upside's Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Engineering departments. The role will lead and support successful budget planning, prepare board presentations, track and report on weekly & monthly KPIs, and put together monthly company updates. The role involves significant exposure to the C-Suite of the company in the aforementioned departments.
What you'll do:
- Be the finance partner for multiple areas of the company including but not limited to Business Development, Sales, Operations, Product, and Marketing.
- Provide consistent, data-driven guidance to Business Development and Sales groups on deal evaluations and partnership negotiations.
- Inform product decisions with financial implications and overall business impact.
- Partner with the Marketing team on ROI of spend and provide support for how overall business objectives will be achieved.
- Be the finance lead in the annual planning process and quarterly reforecasting cycles.
- Build and maintain Excel-based operating/revenue forecast models for each business segment.
- Assist with preparation of both Commercial and Board presentation materials
What you need:
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other quantitative field.
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience (corporate FP&A, tech start-up experience a plus)
- Experience utilizing the NetSuite ERP and Adaptive Planning systems to support forecasting and the budget processes
- Experience in the Oil & Gas, Restaurant, Grocery, and/or Retail sectors preferred, but not required
- Quick learner capable of performing in an unstructured environment such as a start up!

- Upside employees are currently working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Once it's safe to return to the office, this role will sit full-time at our downtown D.C. headquarters.
