Position Overview

The FP&A Manager is the global FP&A business partner for Automotive holding regional and global financial, commercial and strategy responsibilities, coordinating sales plan, RFA process and R&D projects development. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the development of Segment Profitability analyses and optimization of global capacity for the Automotive Value Stream

The FP&A Manager is responsible for connecting and leading with regional teams to provide the operational business partners with financial support: development of planning assumptions, analyses of the different initiatives with preparation and communication of the RFAs, enrichment of the data collection and systems. Develop the consistency and automation of the models and reporting tools.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Follow commercial projects through stages of development
    • Work with the business partners to assess the financial viability of key projects at various stages of development to help prioritize the projects for resource allocation and stage gate review (especially for innovative products and their potential commercial applications)
  • Financial evaluation of projects
    • Work in collaboration with a wide array of functional areas, including technical communities, operations, and commercial teams, to build holistic financial models, incorporating risk assessments from all relevant subject matter experts
  • Link operational applications of projects to potential market impact
    • Incorporate market-technology trend analysis, innovation project type assessments and portfolio structure along with valuations to build business cases in support of the projects
  • Commercial KPIs reporting
    • Support the compilation and communication of the key commercial metrics (volume, price, profitability, etc.) and support the explanation of variances to Annual Plan, Forecast and Prior Year.
  • Commercial Plan and Strategic Plan
    • Support the preparation, consolidation and communication of the commercial Plan and Strategic Plan (next 5 years). Ensure alignment with RFAs and investment projects; support explanation of variances versus prior Strategic Plan
  • RFA preparation and documentation
    • Develop written procedures and financial models for RFA preparations and define the standard calculations for global financial metrics for use in assessing and presenting the benefits of an RFA. Ensure alignment between the RFA process and the Plan / Strategic Plan development
  • Post-RFA procedures and documentation
    • Develop a procedure for on-going post completion analysis of commercial projects and provide analysis as to the benefits achieved vs. target

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, Finance, Math, Economics and/or a related field. MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant operations / finance experience
  • Experience with Commercial based projects preferred
  • Strong management and leadership skills with a proactive participative management style, demonstrating curiosity and passion about Novelis business while staying well organized and structured
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including facilitation of groups toward deliverables
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Good presentation skills to present valuation assessment results to key stakeholders, including projects leads, CEO, regional presidents, and C-level
  • Ability to travel, including internationally (10%)
