This position supports financial planning, analysis, regulatory and budgeting needs for Southern Company and its subsidiaries.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understand, develop, maintain, and effectively use the UIPlanner models to support the needs of the various Southern Company subsidiaries
  • Train, transition, and support users on the Enterprise Foundation UIPlanner Models
  • Continuously examine and improve processes and tools used throughout supported organizations
  • Provide timely solutions to ad hoc requests from the subsidiaries
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships and communicate effectively based on the audience

This position will be located at the Southern Company Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field (Required)

Experience:

• 0-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, engineering, or related field

• Experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, or regulatory are a plus

• Experience with Excel based models or reporting systems are a plus

• Understanding of utility finance, accounting and rate making principles are a plus

• Knowledge of database systems and programming are a plus

• Experience using UIPlanner models are a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Understanding of utility accounting, finance and rate making principles

• Ability to develop, run and critique sophisticated financial models

• Ability to analyze current processes, identify issues, and recommend solutions

• Ability to build effective relationships with team and other groups

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Strong organization and documentation skills
