Financial Analyst
What you'll do
JOB SUMMARY
Implements financial analysis projects for management of various Strategic Business Units (SBU's). May be assigned analysis of monthly financial results, the overall business planning process, general internal financial analysis of various business lines, developing financial models, assisting with the development of performance metrics, and/or assisting with the development of organization-wide accounting policies. Work independently, at the direction of the manager of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the execution of various company-wide financial processes such as forecasting, business planning, or development of accounting policies.
- Performs basic technical research on accounting and financial presentation issues
- Provides feedback related to assumptions and structure of financial models.
- Assists the auditors in their quarterly, year-end, planning and other visits.
- Manages the timing/processing of financial reports required by the Service Level Agreement between Finance and the USTX Field, as well as other business units.
- Analyzes data and assists in the preparation of various financial statements.
- Monitors and evaluates trends and fluctuations of financial data.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field -OR- equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of three years experience performing financial analysis of business or business divisions.
- General understanding of accounting and financial analysis principles.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Organizational and planning capabilities.
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group.
- Ability to identify underlying causes of financial or accounting issues and recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Ability to navigate the internet.

It would be even better if you also had
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analayst, or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
What you'll bring to the team
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
Work Experience:
- 3 years Minimum related work experience
- Proficiency with spreadsheet modeling and Microsoft software.

- Experience providing leadership and direction related to financial analysis and planning.
