Financial Analyst

Overview of Position

The Financial Analyst will create value for the Software & Analytics business, specifically Decision Support. They will act as a key advisor by providing accurate and data-based recommendations to drive business performance improvement and support the financial planning and analysis activities for Decision Support. This role will provide support to the Decision Support finance team and senior business partners in conjunction with the Senior Financial Analysts supporting the business.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Month End - Manage the monthly standard and ad-hoc financial analysis of performance (against history, budget, forecast, and competitors), etc.
  • Reporting - Develop financial reports to support the business activities of the VPs of the departments.
  • Analysis - Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, operating forecasts, etc.
  • Planning - Assist in developing, interpreting, and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control. Includes preparation of monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and 3-year strategic plans.
  • Financial Modeling - Develop/maintain financial models to enable analytics around trends, performance, and outlook.
  • Process Improvement - Suggest and drive process improvement initiatives related to any planning, reporting or analytic process.
  • Special Projects - Carry out special projects as required.

What are the requirements needed for this position?
  • 1+ years progressive experience in finance or investment banking sectors
  • Experience modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and synthesizing large amounts of financial data
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
  • 4-year degree in finance or related field or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with TM1, SAP, SharePoint, and Oracle
  • Working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus
  • Analytical and technical skills - advanced in Excel
