How you will make an Impact:
Research and Safety Division is a business within Customer Channel Group, which is the largest distributor serving the scientific research market.

Seeking a Senior Analyst who will be an integral part of the RSD North America & Emerging Markets FP&A team to support division finance, marketing and commercial leadership and deliver our near and long-term financial objectives. The scope of responsibilities includes all FP&A planning, analysis & reporting to meet financial goals and initiatives to support a growing organization. The ideal candidate will have the ability to drive business decisions thru effective analysis and communication with senior management. This role provides an exceptional opportunity for a motivated self-starter to drive significant value to RSD.

What you will do:
  • Partner with senior finance, commercial or marketing leadership and manage RSD US SG&A expenses. Conduct variance analyses, estimate risks and opportunities, and support execution to meet financial results.
  • Be responsible for the monthly accounting close process, including expense tracking, investments and productivity tracking, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance explanations. Analyze transactional / operational data, identify anomalies, and make accruals / reversals to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Develop and communicate financial and operating goals. This includes the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly forecast updates. Translate business inputs into financial assumptions, build and maintain forecast models to project future trend and results.
  • Partner with Shared Services and other finance teams and consolidate financial results, forecasts and AOP for RSD US full P&L.
  • Manage/Coordinate activities and ensure timely upload and reconciliation to CMR, Oracle Planning and SSAS cubes.
  • Provide analyses to support RSD/CCG senior leadership on high visibility projects.
  • Embrace PPI and drive continuous learning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

How you will get here:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business related field
  • Advanced Qualification Preferred (CPA, MBA, or MS)

  • 3+ years of meaningful work experience in Finance
  • Prior experience in a large global company and highly matrix organization a plus

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas: financial reporting, financial modeling, internal control, forecasting, analysis, and general accounting knowledge.
  • Strong business and industry knowledge as well as the ability to make logical assumptions, identify trends, incorporate external and internal information, draw conclusions from ambiguous data, and effectively benchmark results against appropriate baselines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to summarize and present information in a concise and effective manner tailored toward different audiences. The ideal candidate will have the ability to acquire operational buy-in with easy to understand analyses and presentations at the executive level.
  • Attention to detail and consistently delivering high quality work. Ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines and multi-task in deadline driven environment. Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritizes projects and time effectively.
  • Good understanding of business processes and operations & financial controls, able to identify control weaknesses in existing process and recommend mitigation actions. Proven ability to identify and champion productivity improvements through Practical Process Improvement.
  • Proficient user of MS Excel and PowerPoint are required. Skills with HFM/CMR/PLN, Oracle, and COGNOS are preferred.
