Finance Operations Associate

The Opportunity
People Data Labs is looking for a Finance Operations Associate to join our growing finance team. This is an entry/mid-level position that will be working remotely.
Your primary responsibilities are to work with our VP of Finance and our Senior Accounting Manager to oversee and administer the company’s daily financial activities and provide support for the organization’s ever-expanding finance operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a self-starter, enjoys the dynamic environment of a growing company with multiple responsibilities and room to grow. You will report directly to the VP of Finance, but will work cross-functionally with department leads and other members of the finance team.
We are looking for an intellectually curious and detail-oriented team player who has previously worked in a fast-paced growing startup on the Finance team. The ideal candidate is experienced in documenting processes, improving/scaling processes, and enjoys wearing multiple hats.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage account payables and receivables activities
- Approve third party payments through accurate reconciliation of financial records
- Manage relationships with collections agency for debt collection
- Update and monitor the accounts receivable and handle all customer communications and collections
- Reviewing & Auditing Contracts/Data Points
- Generating Invoices
- Own updating our equity software with all relevant data on stock option grants, fundraising, and more
- Resolve all government paperwork, bills, mail, insurance policies, and more
- Reconcile credit card statements with department heads and communicate any discrepancies and transaction information with Sr. Accounting Manager
- Manage and support staff to use our reimbursement systems
- Maintain organizational filing system, data room for due diligence processes, including personnel and vendor files
- Manage commission statement processing and commission plan upkeep in commission software
- Assist with annual audit and tax return preparation when applicable
- Working with finance team to develop scalable systems and operations
- Identifying opportunities for continued automation to create efficiencies in the way we work
- Document financial policies and procedures for efficiency in communication across the team
About You
- 2+ years of experience in Finance at a tech company
- Start-up experience and prior experience with a fast growing company is a plus
- A highly motivated individual who enjoys administrative and operational work
- Someone who has an accounting background, particularly accounts payable and accounts receivable, credit card reconciliation, and some payroll experience
- Highly organized and have a strong attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals
- Self-starter and able to work autonomously in a remote environment
