As a Director, Sales Compensation Design and Commission Administration, you'll manage the design of Insight's sales compensation plans and subsequent administration of Insight's commission and bonus payment processing to sales personnel based on incentive plan provisions. In addition, you'll own the administration of sales quotas. Job duties include aligning plan design with company strategic objectives, supporting commission and bonus payment accuracy and completeness, balancing staffing needs with cost controls, and ensuring that policies, procedures, and programs are in alignment with the Insight's overall strategic objectives, compensation philosophy and Insight Finance vision.

While performing this role, you will verify and follow through, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, of commission and bonus payments as outlined in the plans. Resolve reconciliation issues quickly and accurately. Audit information needed to track pay metrics. Utilize existing tools, including spreadsheets, ERP system (SAP) and dedicated reports and systems to gather data for payment calculation or analysis. Contribute to the development or improvement of systems to effectively track or capture data. Drive accurate and timely quotas. Have a bias toward action and a hunger for results.

What you'll do at Insight:

  • Manage day-to-day commission processing and exception requests
  • Manage annual plan design and ongoing plan interpretation for sales personnel and sales supporting teammates under variable compensation plans
  • Educate, mentor and train Finance staff on processes and best practices within the compensation design and commission administration area; continuously improve processes and systems
  • Lead quota administration process
  • Interact and partner cross-functionally with Management to drive pay policy and payment understanding throughout the organization
  • Evaluate commission processing software systems and potentially lead implementation and adoption of new platform to control processes, reduce errors and improve Teammate visibility
  • Analyze sales performance results, prepare commission expense reports, presentations, and recommendations for sales and/or finance management
  • Collaborate with HR/Payroll teams as needed to ensure plans are administered correctly
  • Recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation related issues
  • Optimize processes to calculate Sales Teammate commissions and bonuses accurately and efficiently
  • Exception and escalation point for commissions and bonus payouts
  • Establishes and ensures Finance staff compliance, such as company policies, departmental/team procedures and processes and internal audit controls
  • Perform cost analysis or modeling of alternative commission/incentive plan design or quota levels
  • Simplify the complex and ambiguous
  • Interpret and convey in simple messaging sales compensation programs
  • Present effectively and persuasively on controversial or complex topics to Management and/or Teammates
  • Make decisions with conviction

What you'll need to join Insight:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university and 5-7 years of experience in Compensation Design and/or Commission Administration role
  • World at Work certification preferred (CCP or CSCP)
  • Former implementation and/or administration of commission software program
  • Experience in compensation including incentive plan design, financial modeling, commission administration; or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present and articulate strategies across various audiences; sales, marketing, partners, clients, consultants, executive leaders (internal and external)
  • Ability to influence others using data & analysis
