About the job
The Red Hat People (HR) Analytics team is looking for an experienced People Data Analyst to create compelling analysis and actionable insights for the Equity & Compensation Teams. In this role, you will analyze complex business problems using data from internal and external sources to provide metrics and insights that support our decision making processes. You will identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets, create reports, dashboards and presentations; and help automate equity & compensation reporting. Candidates should be able to share their expertise to develop recommendations based on data insights, as well as demonstrate resourcefulness, autonomy and innovative thinking.
What you will do

  • Actively support reporting and analytics projects that highlight trends and measure the impact of our long-term incentive and pay equity programs
  • Consult with stakeholders and collaborate with People Analytics team to identify data needs and develop actionable insights aimed at answering key business questions
  • Use Google Sheets, SQL, and/or Tableau to design and maintain automated data reporting processes and dashboards that produce reliable,real time data for customers
  • Translate raw data sources into meaningful visualizations that reflect key program metrics
  • Produce ad hoc, monthly and quarterly analysis including benchmarking data, trends and opportunities
  • Build reports that support equity budget projections and allocation strategies
  • Partner with team across multiple departments to support ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Support the company's global stock plan and employee stock purchase (ESPP) through analysis of trends, benchmarking, and building presentations with program results to assist with executive briefings and program recommendations.
  • Assist with special projects related to equity, e.g., mergers and acquisitions (M&A) diligence
  • Support Red Hat's pay equity program by assisting with ongoing pay equity country compliance requirements and internal pay equity analysis and recommendations.
  • Follow data confidentiality and data sharing frameworks and best practices
  • Build innovative data visualization to tell the story in a clear, concise manner that will be easily understood by stakeholders


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in HR analytics
  • Demonstrated consulting capabilities and customer orientation
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to transform raw data, identify key insights, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Innovative data visualization and storytelling skills including experience building dashboards and insights in Tableau
  • Experience developing and presenting automated reports and dashboards that use multiple data sources
  • Solid proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets, e.g., pivot tables or advanced formulas
  • Excellent attention to quality and detail, particularly in the context of managing complex and large data sets
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain ongoing coordination, communication and/or team problem solving
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while analyzing sensitive information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


The following are considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of SQL, R & Python skills
  • Experience working with HRIS (Workday)
  • Previous experience in compensation, stock plan administration, or similar relevant HR experience for a U.S. public company
