About the Role
Highspot is hiring a Tax Director to oversee its SALT, Federal, and International tax strategy and compliance function end-to-end. The role will also manage our external tax service providers and build a team with processes that can support Highspot as it rapidly expands. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-funded company in hyper-growth mode. The role is based in Seattle and reports to the Controller with high visibility to executive leaders such as Chief Financial Officer.
What You'll Do
- Work with our tax service providers to create a SALT, Federal, and International Tax strategy
- Work with our accounting team to prepare and then review all SALT, Federal and International tax filings
- Manage our tax service providers to ensure compliance, best in class service, and efficiency
- Maintain accuracy of tax records, maintain proper internal controls, and ensure compliance with all relevant company policies
- Evaluate new business initiatives and geo expansions for tax considerations
- Present tax strategies to the executive leadership to influence decision making
- Build a tax department roadmap focused on people and processes that scale
- Be a senior leader in our accounting department with opportunity to mentor and develop the team
Your Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or taxation (minimum) and CPA
- Deep knowledge and application of SALT, Federal and International tax regulations
- Extensive experience in public or international public company tax compliance with progressive increases in responsibility
- History of working for or with tax service providers ensuring highest client service
- Ability to excel in a flexible, fast pace work environment and possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- History and desire to drive efficiencies and process improvements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and team skills
- Flexible, organized, and detail oriented
