The Director is responsible for the communication and coordination between Ochsner facilities, business units, designated CFOs and other entities responsible for Revenue Cycle processes. The Director works collaboratively to ensure facilities achieve their Revenue Cycle key performance metrics and actively identifies trends and escalates issues as appropriate.

Education

Required - High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Healthcare Management, Business Management or related field

Work Experience

Required - Ten years of Revenue Cycle operations with specific focus in reimbursement Inpatient and Outpatient Managed Care and Commercial payouts, Medicare and state/regional Medicaid programs OR five years of same experience with Bachelor's Degree in related field.

Strong financial background or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) may be substituted for half of the required Revenue Cycle experience.

Preferred - Experience in a multi-facility health system

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of required job information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout required job processes.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Epic and the processes that impact revenue cycle performance and capabilities.
  • Analytical skills to work in a data-heavy environment and to identify trends in teh data.
  • Interpersonal skills in order to build trustin grelationship with team members at all levels.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and to travel domestically as needed.


Job Duties• Identifies potential issues related to Revenue Cycle processes.• Resolves identified issues between Revenue Cycle team members and facility operations and finance teams.• Serves as the point of contact for Revenue Cycle with the Operations and Finance teams coordinating/communicating between Facilities and Revenue Cycle.• Assists with attainment of Revenue Cycle goals and Key Indicators.• Attends various operations/revenue cycle meetings to assist with root cause analysis and mitigation strategies for issues.

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.
