We are looking for a highly-motivated, strategic-minded finance specialist to join our FP&A team in Stockholm or NYC. You will be the Head of the Freemium FP&A function which supports the business unit responsible for all users, subscribers, premium revenue, marketing, payments, and customer service on Spotify’s platform. The mission of Freemium FP&A is to help guide the activities of senior management through meticulous, data-driven insights and analysis in a timely manner. Reporting into the VP FP&A, the Director acts as the main finance business partner to the Chief Freemium Business Officer and his leadership team. The candidate will have an in-depth understanding of core FP&A activities, including reporting, budgeting/forecasting and financial analysis. The candidate also will have a strong subject matter and analytical foundation to be able to assist the business in evaluating opportunities.

This role requires strong leadership skills, and significant interaction and relationship-building with key partners across the business and Finance in both Stockholm and NYC. This role provides significant exposure to Spotify-wide opportunities, challenges and key decision-making in a fast-paced, high growth environment. 

What You'll Do:

  • Provide in-depth financial management, analysis, and strategic insights to the Freemium BU senior management team, VP FP&A and CFO.
  • Own and coordinate all aspects of Freemium FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, long range planning and business casing for MAU, Subs, ARPU, Premium Revenue, and Expenses.
  • Partner with FP&A leadership to develop, communicate, and execute the roadmap for advancing financial management of Freemium, including through operational improvements and automation in support of business level and company-wide financial consolidation needs.
  • Lead all aspects of financial modeling and analysis, collaborating with BU and centralized FP&A teams.
  • Advise on investments and initiatives by evaluating LTV, ROI and other financial metrics.
  • Partner with colleagues at multiple levels and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Freemium (strategy, pricing, analytics, marketing, etc), Finance, Music Licensing, HR and other teams to define and deliver business solutions.
  • Lead and continue to grow a high-performing team.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or engineering; MBA a plus.
  • 15+ years of relevant FP&A/Finance experience, with significant experience in a public company environment.
  • Knowledge of digital or subscription businesses.
  • Consistent track record of proactive finance business partnering and leadership, working closely with senior executives on financial management and strategy.
  • Analytical and strategic approach with the ability to problem solve through ambiguity.
  • Ability to navigate and achieve results in matrixed organizations, partnering with the business, central FP&A, and other CFO functions.
  • Executive-friendly communication and storytelling skills.
  • Prior experience running and developing large teams.
