About the job
The Red Hat Corporate Finance team is looking for a Director focused on corporate planning to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for the Red Hat planning, budgeting, and guidance setting, including coordinating with Red Hat stakeholders and IBM. You will develop financial models and assist senior leaders in target setting and have an opportunity to contribute insights that inform strategic decision making.
What you will do

  • Develop a corporate planning architecture to objectively analyze and frame key decisions to corporate leadership
  • Promote a clear financial strategy and provide facilitation from the Corporate Finance team for a better planning process with clear alignment with IBM planning timelines
  • Own all financial deliverables of the Spring and Fall Plan
  • Develop and maintain corporate planning models
  • Produce multi-year outlooks and detailed analysis of financial metrics
  • Closely monitor business performance and forecasts and align planning outlooks
  • Monitor impacts of foreign currency fluctuations and maintain planning outlooks using multiple currency rate sets
  • Collaborate openly and effectively with other departments and stakeholders
  • Synthesize insights from other teams and incorporate into corporate planning
  • Create corporate planning timelines and communicate requirements to stakeholders
  • Manage improvement to the planning process
  • Use data warehouses and source systems in close collaboration with data teams
  • Engage in cross functional projects to improve data quality and insights


What you will bring

  • 10+ years of experience in various financial planning and analysis roles
  • Familiarity with Red Hat business
  • Significant experience working with complex data sets and forecasting financial metrics
  • Understanding of revenue and expense forecasting
  • Knowledge of subscriptions based metrics
  • Ability to develop complex financial models and anticipate future needs
  • Project management skills with experience guiding complex projects to completion
  • Critical thinking and creative problem solving skills
  • Proven record of cross-functional team collaboration
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terms
  • Excellent presentation skills, development and delivery
  • Excellent team leadership
  • Solid interpersonal skills, including ability to establish credibility with senior executives
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with internal and external stakeholders
