About the Position

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, will have the opportunity to expand our FP&A function, develop strong relationships across the organization and effectively communicate financial information in a clear and concise way, driving process and outcomes. This position will work remotely.


 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage forecasting and budgeting process to drive the company's growth and measure its success
  • Oversee and manage the continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, operating plan and modeling tools
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
  • Create monthly management reporting deck conveying clear messages for senior management to drive the company's growth plans and understand execution of ongoing initiatives
  • Partner across departments to drive ad-hoc analysis around expenses, headcount growth, project execution, and profitability
  • Support the monthly close consolidation process by preparing variance analysis and reporting of results the organization
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures
  • Analyze business performance to better align capital use and lending profitability
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Support management/leadership with in-depth analysis


Candidate Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • Ideal candidate will have prior experience in accounting and the month end close process, then have moved to an FP&A role working to develop budgets and forecasts
  • 8+ years of total experience in Accounting and/or Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Experience in banking, lending, financial services
  • Strong leadership/partnering skills required. Eager to be in a position which you will interact closely with senior management and partners across the firm to drive company-wide initiatives 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, named ranges, index/match, arrays, etc.)
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated to work in a fast-growing start-up environment
  • Ability to work and communicate in a remote environment
  • Able to establish and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships
  • Even-tempered and able to balance multiple tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds

Salary:

Anticipated hiring range of $125,000 - $150,000 DOE
