Director of Financial Accounting
We are looking for a hands-on and highly effective Director of Financial Accounting. The Director of Financial Accounting will lead a high-performing, remote general ledger accounting team for our global business. This role reports to the CAO and will be responsible for overseeing the close process, all GL-related activities, and consolidations. A successful candidate will be focused on growing and developing the members of the general ledger team and who is results-oriented.

Responsibilities
- Lead the team in day-to-day accounting and month-end close activities in accordance with US GAAP.
- Create accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Design and implement monthly accounting close processes.
- Monthly review of financials, including budget versus actual and period over period variance analysis.
- Coordinate with FP&A to provide insights during the budgeting process and investigate variances in budget versus actuals.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to understand the financial impact of new transactions and ensure accounting issues are identified and mitigated.
- Develop and maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Coordinate with external auditors.
- Improve the systems, policies, and procedures necessary to drive efficiency and provide meaningful financial data.
- Provide thought-leadership during our implementation of the suite of modules in Oracle Cloud.
- Continue to evolve and develop an accounting infrastructure that will support significant growth and effectively scale with increased complexity
- Develop, assess, and provide employee feedback for general ledger team.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of relevant accounting experience, including experience in a rapid growth public company, including 5+ years in a management role
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Active CPA designation or equivalent certification is preferred
- Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP
- Demonstrated experience with SOX processes
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office or Google Suite tools
- Experience with Oracle Cloud is preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills that help facilitate interactions with business partners and communication of key status points
- Proven ability to successfully manage projects and timelines, organize/track complex information, prioritize accordingly, and the ability to quickly adjust to shifting priorities and demanding timelines when necessary
