This Finance position is responsible for the FP&A activities for Rapid Diagnostic Solutions, which is a recently acquired business within Thermo Fisher Scientific. The position will require time onsite in San Diego. The candidate will be responsible for driving and leading Forecasting and Planning, providing critical reporting in Commercial, Operations, and business functions, partner with business leaders to develop actions and recommendations enabling the achievement of growth and financial objectives. Key Responsibilities:
  • FP&A leader for the business with ownership for operating mechanisms such as STRAP, AOP, monthly forecasting and reporting, Quarterly business reviews, and Monthly business reviews
  • Primary business partner for Commercial and Operational leadership, providing financial insight and recommendations to deliver our financial objectives and growth strategies
  • Drive key aspects of our Financial and Business transformation as we continue to build upon the start-up roots of the company
  • Design and implement new systems and processes and drive accountability through the development and deployment
  • Successfully communicate sophisticated topics, navigate ambiguity, and influence through recommendations
  • P&L and cash flow management focusing on top and bottom line expansion, risk & opportunities management, and working capital execution
  • Principal finance partner for the enabling functions (Sales, Marketing, R&D, and HR)
  • Lead return on investment analysis and develop financial scenarios and models to facilitate planning and capital deployment decisions
  • Demonstrate FP&A leadership with timely, accurate, and valuable information
  • Lead financial reporting processes including Quarterly/Monthly Business Review (QBR/MBR) package preparation
  • Lead the implementation of the business unit data strategy as we build out our analytics and business intelligence strategy and provide users with meaningful information to drive decision making
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive both business and group level projects from planning to execution
  • Drive a continuous improvement approach with a focus on automation, improving processes, and elevating business partner support where applicable
  • Lead all consolidation activities and results management with Group and corporate ensuring financial reporting integrity and accuracy
  • Develop, mentor, and provide leadership to a team as well as others in the business and function
  • Champion diversity and inclusion and be a role model for the core set of values in the organization: integrity, intensity, innovation, and involvement
  • Support other initiatives, special projects, requests, and ad-hoc financial analysis as required

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance (CPA and/or MBA preferred)
  • 10 years of professional experience in the accounting and finance fields desired
  • Strong leadership, management, and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of PowerBI or Business Intelligence Tools useful
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize financial analysis results in a clear, concise, and accurate manner
  • Passion to work as a teammate and a team leader
  • Demonstrates strong eye for business
  • Ability to navigate and influence in a matrix organization
  • Confidence to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Desire to formulate and drive operational improvements, with confidence
  • Technical ability to successfully navigate interplay between financial systems
  • Applies strong technical and analytical skills to influence strategic business decisions
