Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Director – Corporate Planning to join our FP&A team. As a leader of Financial Planning for the enterprise, including Monthly Forecasting, Annual Budget, and Long Range Planning, this role has significant impact and exposure with the most senior leaders at Chewy including the CEO and CFO. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, and successful and relevant experience with Executive level engagement, enterprise-level planning processes, financial systems and reporting, and organizational change management. This role must balance many deliverables simultaneously, improve and transform processes and relationships across several different and expanding business models, and display strong leadership and development skills both with direct reports and across the broader organization. This role will report to the head of Corporate FP&A at Chewy and be the central owner of planning processes that span the entirety of Chewy businesses.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver Forecast accuracy, insight, and efficiency to the most senior leaders of Chewy across all P&L items and businesses with monthly and annual deliverable drumbeats
  • Develop a deep understanding of key financial and operational metrics across the organization and leverage that acumen to effectively predict and describe future periods
  • Engage with Finance leadership across all areas of the Company to deliver timely and robust planning content, explanatory power, insights for action, and process improvement
  • Effectively lead FP&A Planning transformation strategy by identifying, proposing, and executing process standardization and financial system capability improvement
  • Design solutions via co-creation with Finance partners to systematize manual planning processes and continually improve efficiency in Finance monthly planning processes
  • Ensure data integrity and drive consistent and accurate reporting of Finance data across the organization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Business Analytics, Marketing, Corporate and Commercial Finance, and Accounting) to improve data quality and speed of reporting. Ensure performance is accurately reported.
  • Effectively manage numerous projects at a given time in a fast-paced environment
  • Lead a team including Finance Managers and Senior Financial Analysts

What You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in planning and reporting, including enterprise-level leadership roles; familiarity with e-commerce, CPG, or retail business model, preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • Strong process and change management orientation, including managing systems and stakeholders
  • Strong Communication skills – ability to distill and convey complex information messages clearly and succinctly
  • Exceptional understanding of GAAP, financial statements both internal and external and financial modeling
  • Strong data visualization skills and familiarity with BI tools and Management Reporting systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Advanced analytical skills and the ability to drill down to the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
  • Results-oriented, highly energetic, dynamic individual with hands-on mentality
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in both early stage and corporate environments with ability to deliver clear improvement to ongoing processes as the enterprise scales
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
  • Ability to self-start and self-direct work; ability to work independently while managing multiple projects
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them through to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing operating conditions while still delivering to expectations
  • Experience leading and building high performing teams
  • Position may require light travel

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $156,000 - $302,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k, an annual bonus potential, new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue PTO and UTO while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
