Texans Credit Union has an outstanding opportunity for a Data Analyst in our Finance Department! This position aids the CFO in the Strategic Fiscal Management of the Credit Union and will work at our Headquarters located in Richardson, TX.

Major Duties and Essential Functions

  1. Provide data-driven insights and analysis to understand drivers of performance.
  2. Create new data-driven approaches for the purpose of generating business insights through data analytics, information visualization, and addressing unanswered business issues in a proactive manner to solve complicated business cases.
  3. Provide consistent performance of turning data into clear insights that inform decisions.
  4. Present insights and recommendations to management for decision making and strategic planning with effective communication and presentation skills.
  5. Aid in the direction and coordination of all approved programs, projects, and major activities of the Finance department.
  6. Collaborate with numerous departments across the institution, assisting them with data needs to achieve the desired operational results.
  7. Continue education to remain constantly aware of new ideas and approaches to performing a more efficient and effective function as a Data Analyst.
  8. Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  9. Expert knowledge of Power BI and databases (SQL and non-SQL).
  10. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  11. Adept at creating queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  12. Experience with database design development, maintaining and making connections to source data applications.
  13. An ability to make critical decisions related to data governance and maintenance of an enterprise data dictionary.
  14. An ability to own the quality of data
  15. Identify by visually comparing and contrasting "same record" and "same attribute" records.
  16. Manual de-duping of data coming from different sources
  17. Translate and map data from multiple data sources into Power BI for visualization and reporting. Create automated Power BI dashboards. Develop best Power BI approaches and practices, and enhance the skills within the institution
  18. Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, trouble shooting and decision-making skills
  19. Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
  21. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
  22. Ability to work unguided and independently.

Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:

  • Working knowledge of a variety of financial products and services
  • Excellent member service skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • At least 1 year of deep Power BI experience with 3 years experience preferred
  • Excellent time management skills



Education: Bachelor's degree, with major in Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or equivalent certifications.

Experience: Minimum three years of similar or related experience.
