Dedicated cost modeling specialists will support category teams, which enables fast model development, standard quality and upgrades over time
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Cost Modeling Associate, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary procurement and R&D teams to develop and maintain the multiple cost models across key spend categories. These models will generate insights from our connected data, enabling KHC to develop actionable pipeline of cost savings initiatives. This role requires to be an Agile learner, possess strong problem-solving skills, work as part of a technical, cross functional analytics team, and want to solve complex data problems and deliver the insights to enable impact in the procurement spend.
A Cost Engineer Analyst will develop concrete product improvements within our value engineering approach and target costing projects and you’ll contribute to creating innovative product ideas.
In this role will focus to improve productivity and effectiveness by working to develop products and services that fit company needs, are produced with attractive margins, provide platforms for add-on offerings, and enhance the reputation of the brand for future business growth.
This role includes cost modelling, as well as coordinating the collection, analysis and reporting of data from various sources to support strategic sourcing, supplier engagement and reporting needs within the Procurement pod in support of the company’s vision.
- Monitors market trends regarding prices, design and other key cost drivers
- Analyzes market data, building supplier profiles and understanding capabilities
- Maintains and update cost models, reviewing key assumptions periodically and identify price variance in the categories
- Runs the data through the cost models and doing the initial analysis for category teams, identifying TCO levers and performing the appropriate analysis, including LPP
- Develops database consolidating specifications, drawings and technical documents to support competitive events and supplier conversations
- Coordinates with supporting teams (e.g., risk management) to update appropriate assumptions in cost model
WHO YOU ARE
- Master of Science in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or other engineering fields
- 4+ years of experience in product development related functions, including product cost optimization, product design, value engineering, DFMA, R&D prototyping, supplier management, negotiation, target cost setting
- Demonstrated analytic and quantitative skills with the ability to structure and solve problems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English
