Corporate Strategy Associate
About the role
We’re seeking a Corporate Strategy Associate to boost Chime’s competitive intelligence and refine its business strategy. As a member of our lean, but highly visible and impactful Corporate Strategy and Development Team, you will play a key part in helping Chime make considered, data-driven strategic decisions -- specifically with our member base in mind. You will help us analyze and deconstruct business models across the competitive landscape by structuring financial analyses that drive business results and develop frameworks that guide the executive team.Â
We are looking for someone who is excited in tackling complex and ambiguous questions to define a problem and drive towards actionable recommendations. A successful individual in this role will not only be able to conduct rigorous industry and business research but also collaborate with internal business partners to synthesize findings enabling Chime to position itself for long-term success.
For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $133,000 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Assess critical business and strategic levers, conduct rigorous research, and make actionable recommendations through a data-driven process that position Chime for long-term success.
- Develop thought leadership on emerging trends in payments and financial technology (i.e., Chime’s competitive intelligence desk), providing coverage on product, marketing, and financial strategy of public and private FinTech players.
- Analyze white space businesses, products, and partnership opportunities while understanding Chime’s existing product and member strategy to provide guidance for senior leaders and drive overall strategy .
- Evaluate the benefits of potential acquisitions and manage the process of building both internal and external consensus.
- Play a key role in preparing the company to successfully complete financing rounds.
To thrive in this role, you have
- 3 - 5 years of experience in investment banking, PE / VC / hedge funds, strategy consulting; prior experience at a high-growth technology, payments, or FinTech startup a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, research, and quantitative skills.
- Eagerness to dive deep into the details.
- Ability to execute on projects with minimal guidance while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with key stakeholders, cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance principles.
