Risk Manager, Core Banking
About the Role
We are looking for an analytical and data driven team member with experience managing risk related to deposit accounts in a banking or fintech environment. In this role, you will lead a team of risk analysts and report to the Director of Move Money and P2P Risk and lead your team to develop risk policies for our deposit products, monitor risk performance of the deposit products and partner with the product team to create risk informed product features. You’ll work cross functionally with partners and stakeholders from multiple business units across the company, including other risk teams, finance, product analytics and engineering. Â
For Colorado based roles:Â In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $134,000 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Be a working manager, both directly contributing and managing a team of risk analysts and coaching them in their day to day tasks. Â
- Be a subject matter expert in the deposit account space, providing guidance and expertise to your team and to partners in other business units.
- Develop and maintain risk policies for our Core Banking Deposit products and card products to limit losses and minimize bad customer experiences.Â
- Work with your team to develop reporting to monitor risk and losses associated with Core Banking Deposit products and card products.
- Estimate risk impact of new features and support new product testing.
- Provide risk focused input into product design.
- Coordinate with fraud operations and disputes teams. Â
To thrive in this role, you have
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Finance, or other quantitative disciplines; a Master’s degree with a quantitative focus is a plus.
- 5+ years of combined experience in both the deposit banking focused on check deposits, mobile check deposit, ACH deposit or deposit account limits and a payments risk role.  Â
- Excellent SQL programming skills, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, experience in Python (or R or SAS or similar language)Â
- Exceptional detail-orientation and organizational skills. You are eager to solve challenging analytical problems for the business
- The drive to work in a fast-paced environment and exceed ambitions deadlines while ensuring flawless completion
- Excellent written and oral communication skillsÂ
