The Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting function. You will ensure the leadership team has the right information timely to make strategic decisions across the organization. You know how to develop and manage a team as they navigate through multiple deadlines and priorities. You are ready to roll up your sleeves to build, own, and refine best-in-class accounting processes and internal controls as we grow and scale. To be successful, you must have the ability to function in a constantly evolving, highly entrepreneurial environment at a broad-based, strategic level while being capable of driving detailed, tactical execution.
How you’ll contribute to #OneTeam
- Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, reporting, and financial statement preparation
- Manage the monthly close process, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations and analyses, financial statements, and various financial analyses
- Lead the annual audit
- Work with external tax professionals and government agencies on company filings to ensure compliance in all tax areas
- Research, interpret, and apply new accounting guidance
- Analyze complex transactions and prepare audit-ready memorandums on technical accounting treatment
- Proactively identify and implement thoughtful process improvements and rigorous internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley Section 404
- Collaborate with Account Management team to interpret contract terms and determine revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Collaborate with FP&A on budget vs actual and investor reporting
- Complete ad hoc accounting and finance requests and special projects
- Clearly articulate matters and report with several stakeholders, including executive management, external auditors, etc.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of related experience
- Big 4 and CPA preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP
- Proficiency in NetSuite and Concur is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
