As Controller, you will interact with members of the Postscript’s leadership team across all functional areas. We are looking for an experienced accounting leader with hypergrowth experience who will be energized by the opportunity to grow a best-in-class and agile accounting organization capable of delivering accurate, timely financial results, and financial reporting.

All positions at Postscript are fully remote.

Primary duties

  • Oversee and manage our core Accounting team in general accounting, monthly financial close process, financial operations, A/R, A/P, and tax compliance
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to support key company initiatives, particularly those around segmented P&L reporting
  • Partner closely with the FP&A team to provide timely and accurate reporting for forecasting and analytics
  • Own optimization of timely and audit-ready financial statements, internal controls, and management reporting
  • Own all accounting processes and ensure the function has the appropriate tech stack and internal processes in place to support scalability and automation of the business, as well as maximizing team productivity and reporting accuracy
  • Maintain the integrity of the financial and reporting systems: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of income, balance sheet and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Establish and maintain a library of key accounting policies, finance processes, accounting methodology, revenue and accrual recognition policies consistent with industry and accounting practices.
  • Lead transition of accounting function from outsourced to in-house, including building and developing a team
  • Assist with migration from Quickbooks Online to Netsuite
  • Tax management: sales tax compliance, tax schedules, coordination of returns, and information.
  • Participate in 409(a) valuation process to set stock option exercise price and broadly be responsible for equity accounting and capitalization table matters in concert with legal.
  • Contribute to board meeting and investor reporting preparation and bring insight driven contributions, including variance to budget, leading to strong leadership decision-making and risk/return decisions
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal accountability, innovative thinking, and continuous improvement

What We’ll Love About You

  • 8+ years experience in an accounting leadership role with a background in Big 4 public accounting and/or high growth tech company.  SaaS experience strongly preferred
  • 4+ years of demonstrated management experience building a strong accounting function. Early stage experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge and leadership of accounting operations. Proven experience building, developing, mentoring, and inspiring a diverse, high performing professional accounting team.
  • A strong, strategic, and analytical mindset coupled with intellectual energy, who acts in service of the organization and its people
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience in cultivating collaborative working relationships with teams across an organization
  • Ability to work in a growing, entrepreneurial organization; ability to quickly identify both risks and opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on both process improvements and results
  • Experience leading monthly financial close process on a 5 business day close cycle
  • Experience and understanding of NetSuite or comparable ERP and other accounting software
  • Deep experience shaping accounting policies and procedures and knowledge of GAAP
  • CPA preferred
