Role Summary
Magna New Mobility is seeking a highly motivated Group Controller based in Troy, Michigan. The Controller will be reporting to the Senior Director of Finance and M&A and will be responsible for overseeing financial and accounting efforts for the New Mobility Group.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable developing and implementing systems and processes for a newly formed business unit and will have the opportunity to work within a fast-growing, start-up environment, operating with a high degree of autonomy. Given the early-stage nature of the New Mobility Group, the candidate will have a broad set of responsibilities across all areas of accounting and financial management and will have substantial runway for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain systems and procedures for accurate and timely management reporting
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Ensure all month-end close processes are followed and completed timely and accurately according to the closing calendar
- Review month end results, understand variances to plan and summarize results for New Mobility executive management
- Assist management with the preparation of annual Budget; provide financial expertise to analyze and interpret information that tracks Budget and implement programs to control and reduce costs
- Create business cases to optimize the financial performance of the New Mobility Group
- Review and approve capital requests, invoices, purchase orders, and inter-company charges
- Develop, implement and update procedures for cost allocations between different internal divisions and departments
- Coordinate with external auditors as required
- Provide expertise in accounting principals
- Handle special projects as needed; perform other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Finance Director

Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with major in Accounting or Business
- 10+ years general accounting experience
- Extensive experience with computerized accounting packages and Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with others is required
- Detail oriented; high level of ownership and accuracy; self-starter; able to work autonomously with limited oversight/supervision
Additional Information
- Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
- May require some travel
