Job Description

Management and oversight of the Finance and Accounting portfolio. Responsible for the direction, execution and revenue for specific portfolio, including external partnerships, product development, content and execution and P&L. Identifies and launches new products beyond face to face meetings and strategically evaluates new business opportunities to expand revenue opportunities.

SCOPE OF INFLUENCE

  • External Client Group: Speakers, delegates, sponsors, partners
  • Internal Client Group: Marketing, Business Development, Delegate Sales, Event Management, IS, Design

 PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Market Research, Topic Generation and Brand Planning (40%)

  • Topic generates new product to fill portfolio and meet revenue goals
  • Organizes, analyzes, and synthesizes complex information into a commercial program; writes comprehensive market-driven outlines that become guidelines for conferences to go to market
  • Develops strategy for growth of annual events

Brand and Portfolio Management (50%)

  • Develops professional networks to generate topics and recruits (and supports team in recruiting) industry experts/speakers to address subjects in support of these commercial programs
  • Develop and own external partnerships with associations and publications in specific verticals
  • Manages portfolio advisory boards/advisors to generate topics and new product offerings
  • Responsible for the oversight of the P&L of portfolio
  • Refines and creates process to support efficiencies and financial success of portfolio; collaborates cross-functionally with management and other related publications

Other (10%)

  • Attend trainings and meetings as required
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience in journalism and/or management or a related field
  • 4-6 years business experience with a minimum of 2-4 years direct conference production and topic generation experience
  • Demonstrated analytical, research and commercialization skills along with experience working in a leadership position or as a project lead with cross-functional teams is required
  • Must have strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in networking, building relationships and strong verbal and written communication abilities are necessary for success
  • Proficiency with social networking sites and the internet is required
  • Ability to work within tight production timeframes and on multiple projects, advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite is also required
