CIB Payments Technology - Trust, Safety, & Compliance - Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager
JP Morgan, processes on average 34MM payments totaling $7 trillion dollars, representing 24% of the market. As a leader in the payments industry, JP Morgan is innovating in numerous areas, specifically adding new payment methods (e.g. JP Coin) along with accelerating settlement speeds (e.g. real-time payments). These new features and offerings have led to increasing volumes, up 2.8% YoY. Unfortunately, this has resulted in an increased amount of fraud and financial crimes activity. Sanctions screening volumes have increased from 5MM to 7.5MM transactions per day, a 50% increase YoY, resulting in 30k alerts requiring investigation. Fraud Prevention has observed a 35% increase in fraudulent payment attempts (8,516) and 48% increase in amount ($908MM) YoY.
We are currently in need of an agile project manager / scrum master to join our fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will be intricately involved in creating plans, resolving issues / unblocking teams, and driving deliverables to closure, as well as playing the Scrum Master (Agility Lead) role for one or more of our US-based scrum teams. This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to become a part of an innovative team, leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies to build and manage first-class cloud-based applications that help fight payment fraud and build trust with our clients.
Responsibilities

  • Learn and leverage existing agile methodology values, principles, and practices within the organization to plan, manage, and deliver software solutions.
  • Train, mentor, and support one or more scrum teams to follow the organization's agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Schedule and facilitate scrum ceremonies, meetings, and decision-making processes.
  • Monitor sprint progress and performance and help teams make improvements.
  • Ensure proper use of collaborative tools and processes and remove impediments for the scrum team.
  • Help align agile practices across the larger Trust, Safety, & Compliance organization.
  • Assess existing practices, identify deficiencies and gaps, and create plans to remediate.
  • Leverage JIRA for reporting and Product and Portfolio Level Dashboards
  • Facilitate release management, as well as ensure sprints are aligned according to the release schedule with cross functional dependencies identified, committed to, and scheduled across component teams.


Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years working as Scrum Master
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or related discipline
  • CSM or similar certification preferred
  • Experience facilitating scrum ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint demo, and retrospective)
  • Ability to remove impediments, solve problems, resolve conflict, and enforce agreed-upon rules with the Team
  • Strong written/verbal communication, coaching, analysis, and interpersonal skills
  • JIRA tool knowledge
  • Experience working with globally diverse and distributed teams
  • Ability to organize/manage multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with MS SharePoint & Excel, Confluence Wiki, and SDLC
