Job Description Commercial Banking CCBSI F&BM: Data, Reporting & Analytics Team (602)
Commercial Banking ("CB"), one of JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s four lines of businesses, provides comprehensive financial solutions, including investment banking, lending, wholesale payments and asset management products. Through a network of over 190 offices and approximately 10,000 employees , CB serves over 19,000 clients globally, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions and not-for-profit entities, with annual revenue generally ranging from $20mm to $2bn, and over 37,000 real estate clients, owners and investors. Within Commercial Banking, the Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries (CCBSI) business focuses on companies typically with annual revenues of over $500mm which require traditional banking services in addition to investment banking products and the Middle Market Banking and Specialized Industries (MMBSI) business focuses on serving clients with annual revenues of between $20mm and $500mm.
The CCBSI Reporting & Analytics team sits within the Finance and Business Management ("F&BM") Strategic Infrastructure group. The team is primarily responsible for the management of strategic data initiatives within the CCBSI business, for broad data governance and reporting (MIS), and advanced analysis of business performance.
Working on this team includes responsibility for developing and executing data and reporting strategies for CCBSI, driving business intelligence and maintaining operating discipline, all through a client centered approach. The ideal candidate has experience in technology builds, data queries/compilation, report generation/optimization and partnering cross-LOB. They must also be proactive in their decision-making; problem solving and provide analytical insight and business judgment in support of strategic financial and operational priorities.
Responsibilities

  • Drive aspects of end to end reporting including storyboarding, identifying key report metrics, data aggregation/trend analysis; ability to craft the message and present findings/recommendations to stakeholders and/or senior management
  • Participate in rationalizing reporting and driving the development of automated, strategic data solutions (e.g., Qlik Sense dashboards, Alteryx workflows, user tools) as well as channel strategies once data is landed
  • Provide testing support for dashboard and reporting enhancements including defining the strategy for baseline data extraction for regression purposes
  • Assist in the data & reporting strategy by focusing on the needs of Sales and its support functions in F&BM, products, controls and operations teams
  • Partner with our offshore India teams to ensure proper coverage for BAU reporting, dashboard development and adhoc data requests
  • Collaborate with Data, Analytics Tools (DAT) and Technology teams in order to ensure CCBSI data and infrastructure priorities are executed efficiently (e.g., 3rd party vendor data consumption, data strategy, data workflows)
  • Collaborate on data strategy and delivery with various cross-functional teams and partners in F&BM, Risk, Treasury Management, Banking, Marketing, Strategy and Transformation, Middle Market, and Commercial Real Estate
  • Maintain a holistic view of reporting strategy in order to ensure data integrity and alignment between multiple delivery channels (e.g., Salesforce, Enterprise Data Hub (EDH), Master Data Management)
  • Champion the best practices of code reviews, version control, business requirements documentation, data quality, and issue tracking


Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience as a data & analytics professional in the area of business intelligence delivery & reporting, process improvements, project management and/or management consulting
  • 3+ years proven work experience in Python - be able to inherit and maintain existing code base, independently evaluate dependencies to determine impact and recommend solutions to support enhancements, etc., desire to improve upon existing processes to promote efficiencies
  • Possess strong governance mindset for code version controls, documentation & code-sharing using Bitbucket, GitHub, etc.
  • 3+ years of hands on working experience with SQL (preference in Apache Hive / Impala)
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups) and hands on experience with Excel VBA scripting
  • Ability to develop executive presentations in PowerPoint (PitchPro a plus) and present insights and findings to C-Suite level management
  • Proven ability to perform business analysis and lead end-to-end projects with limited supervision
  • Exposure to business intelligence tools (such as Qlik Sense, Tableau)
  • Exposure to other data analysis tools (such as R, Alteryx) and familiarity with other programming interfaces (such as API) is a plus
  • Familiarity with internal JPMC data systems (e.g., Client Central, CKC) is a plus
  • BA/BS degree; advanced degree preferred
  • Teamwork - team player with demonstrated strong work ethic, high level of professionalism, ability to work well with cross-functional teams and across management levels
