Cash Management Senior Analyst
Capital One Treasury is looking for an enthusiastic team player who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, intellectually curious, highly dependable and can handle pressure to support the Cash Management and Forecasting team. This operationally-focused role involves managing daily cash activity at Capital One’s Federal Reserve bank accounts, US, Canadian and UK correspondent bank accounts, facilitating intercompany lending, and assisting with Treasury system enhancements and enterprise-wide payment initiatives. Additionally, the ideal candidate will build relationships with business partners to broaden awareness of team processes and increase our knowledge of company-wide cash activities to better inform the daily cash management and forecast processes.
As a member of the Cash Management and Forecasting team, the Senior Associate will be in a great position to learn and understand the various funding, investment, and reporting mechanics of Capital One at a broad level via daily cash activities of the entire organization. The team interacts with senior leadership to provide guidance on matters related to cash and often plays a significant role in the successful execution of corporate initiatives and transactions.
The candidate will also be expected to support and drive efforts to eliminate and/or enhance manual processes by leveraging Enterprise technology tools. The ideal candidate must have the capacity and desire to learn basic and gradually more complex financial concepts.
Responsibilities:
• Establish daily cash positions to support daily funding decisions and prevent utilization of the Fed Discount Window
• Run cash position processes that record disbursement and receipt activities, concentrate subsidiary bank funds, and compute and record daily cash balances
• Interact with front office traders and other relevant business partners throughout the day as necessary to communicate changes in projected closing cash balances and discrepancies in forecasted settlements
• Partner with settlements reconciliation, compliance, and corporate accounting teams to execute and reconcile cash transactions
• Act as an advisor on Treasury matters related to bank account openings, closings and banking product recommendations
• Support new cash management processes and requirements as necessary to comply with changing regulations
• Manage and report on daylight overdraft limits and usage
• Support cash management integration for acquired businesses and new business activities
• Become subject matter expert for corporate (non customer) cash transactions and provide operational advice to enterprise-wide partners on feasible methods of moving cash for various corporate initiatives
• Gain a fundamental understanding of the Federal Reserve Payment system, funds settlement and cash management
• Have the desire to constantly review processes with an eye to reduce risks and improve efficiencies and effectiveness
• Ability to present complex information to Senior Leadership
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in banking cash management
At least 2 years of experience with Quantum software
At least 1 year of experience in Python
At least 1 year of experience with Google Suite
Certified Treasury Professional designation
