The Role:

Currently, we are seeking to hire a Budget and Equity Payroll Specialist. As a Budget and Equity Payroll Specialist, you are responsible for the preparation and management of departmental Payroll budgets across the organization. Partnering with leadership across the organization, in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition team, Payroll budgets are prepared, and updated regularly to ensure adherence to financial controls and hiring cadence. In addition to Payroll budgets, this role is also responsible for the administration of our Shareworks equity platform. Duties will include periodic issuance of grants, processing of vesting events and quarterly financial reporting and reconciliation.

This position will report into Corporate Headquarters based Stamford, CT and will require flexibility to work both onsite as well as remote.

Summary of Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to meet or exceed all goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Timely, accurate preparation and management of all departmental Payroll budgets across the organization.
  • Partnering with Talent Acquisition team on timing and salaries of all new hires in our Hub locations.
  • Periodic processing of all equity grants and vesting events which process through our Payroll system.
  • Key driver of systemic rollout of Payroll budgeting in an already identified platform and partnering with Payroll team for integration of equity and payroll platforms accordingly.
  • Ensuring that all equity transactions such as grants, cancellations and exercises are accurately recorded in a timely manner
  • Review and approve all equity related payroll transactions and ensure compliance with tax withholding requirements
  • Ensure payroll and equity records/processes maintain compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Comply with company policies, including the performance of SOX internal control procedures with high-quality documentation.
  • Assist with reporting materials for internal and external parties, including auditors.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor and manage issues professionally and respectfully in accordance with our company standards.

  • Perform any other duties as requested by management.



Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in Payroll budget preparation and management.
  • Must have working knowledge of stock compensation, experience with employee equity platforms a plus.
  • Technical savvy and experience with system integration and automation of processes into new systems/platforms a plus.
  • Proficiency required with Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, advanced knowledge with Excel required; i.e., pivot tables, v-lookup, etc.
  • Ability to work directly with all levels of management and cross functional departments for the timely execution and detailed oversight of the periodic updates to respective budgets.
  • Work very closely with Payroll, Talent Acquisition and Accounting departments to ensure data integrity and timing is upheld.
  • Must be results driven and utilize knowledge to meet or exceed KPIs and goals.
  • Must have proven time management skills and quickly adapts to a changing business environment.
  • Able to prioritize responsibilities with the appropriate level of urgency, able to listen and can use this information to solve problems, anticipate issues and make correct decisions based on a variety of situations.

  • Must be capable of using and operating all equipment as required, including but not limited to: iPad, laptop, etc. Be able to move objects (including medium to large furniture items up to 75 pounds) from a lower to a higher position or horizontally from position-to-position or be able to assemble furniture while working on the selling floor or in our warehouse.
  • Must be able to travel, as required by the Company in its sole discretion, for occasional meetings and conferences using various forms of transportation.
  • Consistent ability to work both remotely and report into Corporate Headquarters or designated showroom, as required and in accordance with Lovesac policies, CDC and State Guidelines.
