Billing Specialist

About the team and role:
The Billing team at Aircall is currently part of the Accounting team and is responsible for cash collection from our valued customers. You’ll be in charge of the North America (US & Canada) accounts, which you’ll manage through JIRA (for customer requests), our billing channel on Slack (for internal request), and cash collections reminders to prevent the loss of cash. This role is a great opportunity to join a global team that is dedicated to always improving processes, training our customer-facing teams, and ensuring our customers can succeed with Aircall! You will report to the Billing Director.
What you'll do:
- Directly support our customers on their billing questions via email, phone, and chat (tools used: JIRA and Intercom)
- Train and support our customer-facing team (Sales, Success, Support) on billing best practices
- Contribute to the implementation and best practice of internal billing procedures
- Solve billing, customer credit, and payment disputes issues
- Monitor assigned accounts to identify and resolve outstanding debts
- Find and contact customers to inquire about their overdue payments
- Issue invoices, receipts, and credit notes
- Update the customer database
- Help implement our new billing software system
What you'll bring:
- 1-2 years or more of experience working with customers on their billing questions and issues
- Excellent communication skills in order to work effectively with our customers (via email/phone)
- Ability to work with numbers and to process financial information
- Passion for consistently providing world class customer experiences and the willingness to learn and help
- Ability to explain technical financial concepts in an easy to understand manner
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Problem solver and results driven: you can quickly think on your feet and are comfortable managing several competing tasks and issues in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and superior time management skills
- Patience and the ability to remain calm and even-keeled while adapting to a variety of situations
- Great familiarity with MS Office (in particular Excel) and ERP software
- Experience using some of our tools like Intercom, JIRA, and Slack, a plus!
- Positive energy!
- Previous tech startup experience a big plus!
