Baird Capital Financial Analyst
The Baird Capital Fund team is responsible for internal and external reporting for the Baird Capital partnerships. The team ensures activity is properly reflected in the fund financial statements in accordance with the Limited Partnership agreements. The team's main areas of focus include producing partnership financial statements and portfolio company quarterly reporting for the limited partners, generating capital calls and distributions, funding portfolio company investments, calculating investment performance metrics and assisting with the year-end audit and tax work. The team works closely with the Baird Capital Chief Operating Officer as well as members of Baird's Legal, Compliance, Operations and Treasury teams. This position will have primary responsibility assisting with internal and external financial reporting.
As a Baird Capital Financial Analyst, you will support the following:
General Deliverables:
- Present information clearly and concisely to manager, peers, team members, and clients. Receptive to ideas and suggestions from others.
- Maintain accurate data within the private equity accounting software in order to properly report the fund financials to investors, internal partners and external business partners.
Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Maintain accounting records for the private equity partnerships and management companies.
- Prepare journal entries and compiles quarterly partnership financial statements and capital account reports for investors.
- Update investor information and responds to limited partner inquiries.
- Accumulate information for inclusion in quarterly investor reports which includes preparing and maintaining internal rate of return (IRR) and other performance metrics
- Assist in preparation of year-end financial statement audits.
- Provide support to the Tax Manager while working alongside the Senior Financial/Tax Analyst in assisting with the review of investor's annual tax statements (Schedule K-1s), year-end tax investor statements, and gathering supporting workpapers for external tax preparers
Projects:
- Coordinate funding of portfolio investments.
- Responsible for partnership capital call and distribution processes.
- Conduct ad-hoc reporting for Baird Capital investment team.
- Assist with documentation of policies, procedures and issues.
What we need from you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and reliability with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
- Produces high quality, timely and accurate work product.
- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently, complete multiple concurrent responsibilities, proactively communicate and take initiative.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel.
