Overview
Reporting into the SVP, Portfolio Strategy, the AVP, Portfolio Strategy is responsible for developing strategies to optimize servicing revenue for either the GSE/Government (MSR) or the private whole loan portfolio.
Job Description

  • Servicing revenue optimization.
  • Oversee the loss mitigation decision engine for the assigned portfolio (MSR or whole loan). Enhance loss mitigation programs to maximize servicing revenue.
  • Devise alternative strategy to minimize servicing losses (VA no bid risk, FHA default servicing losses, etc.). This is achieved by first building the valuation model then subsequently driving the technology implementation.
  • Manage the GNMA early buy out (EBO) strategy and execution. (Applicable to the MSR portfolio).
  • Compliance
  • Implement and manage the compliance rules engine for the applicable portfolio.
  • Implement investor guideline changes.
  • Lead Portfolio Strategy on investor and regulator audits.
  • Manage pre-boarding strategy for loans with in-flight loss mitigations.
  • Trading
  • Participate in loan acquisition and sale (i.e. non-performing loan and HUD-601 auction) by assigning value (price) enhancement activities such as loss mitigation program and (when applicable) GNMA EBO.
  • Participate in repurchase negotiation by evaluate of economics of next best alternatives.
  • Reporting
  • Build reports to analyze and support potential revenue generation activities for the portfolio
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Assume a strong leadership role within the company, the Portfolio Strategy team and in direct supervision of others
  • Work in conjunction with Division leadership to develop a strategy that supports the company's strategic and operational priorities
  • Contribute to the development of business unit goals and action plans to anticipate and support the needs of a growth-oriented company
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
