Within Workday Payroll, the Payroll Accounting and Payments team is responsible for recording payroll journal entries into the accounting system, managing payment elections, and generating payslips. We also integrate Workday Payroll with the Workday Financials ecosystem and work with many diverse technologies.

About the Role

As an Automation Engineer, you will work closely with development engineers, product managers, and quality assurance leads to deliver reliable functionality for Workday's mission-critical payroll product. You will write robust, efficient and maintainable tests using our in-house test automation framework. You will collaborate with other team members to decide the optimal mix of test coverage for features the team delivers, and you will monitor and identify improvements to our continuous integration pipeline to enable the team to deliver functionality quickly and safely.

About You

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing automated tests as part of a multi-functional team
• Working knowledge of QA methodology and testing approaches and techniques
• Experience writing reliable, performant, and maintainable unit and integration tests
• Experience triaging and debugging test failures
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and workflows

Other Qualifications

• Experience testing SOAP and REST services
• Experience giving feedback to peers in code reviews
• Experience with Test-Driven Development and Agile a plus
• Knowledge of payroll systems a plus
