This position is located at our Fort Worth, TX corporate office and has the potential to be a hybrid position with up to 50% remote work.

DESCRIPTION
This is one of several positions supporting Treasury and Risk Management activities. Responsibilities are spread across the Treasury and Risk Management Analyst positions and may include the following substantive areas:
- Unsecured debt offerings
- Secured financing transactions
- Employee Benefit Plan investments and reporting
- Cash management (includes investment, borrowing and reporting)
- Risk Management compliance and contract negotiations
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Analysis
- Evaluation of various financing alternatives which may include debt issuance alternatives, hybrid debt options, pension funding decisions, lease/buy modeling calculating after-tax NPV as well as effects on operating income, net income, cash flow and ROIC, etc.
- Credit metrics and comparison against targets and peers
- Review of insurance company financial statements
Cash and Investing
- Analysis and recommendations regarding daily cash investment or drawdown decisions
- Evaluation of investing/borrowing options, meeting investment goals and complying with the approved policy
- Establish and maintain market relationships
- Assist with various negotiations which may include leases and debt offerings
Transaction Maintenance
- Maintenance of systems tracking various financial transactions
- Review of accounting associated with transactions
- Compliance with various terms and conditions associated with transactions, which may include casualty notifications, compliance certification, mortgage releases, termination notices, investments, etc.
Risk Management
- Determine compliance with BNSF's insurance requirements on specific types of contracts and in assigned geographical territories. Such duties include:
- Overseeing the collection and monitoring of certificates of insurance.
- Performing an initial assessment as to compliance with contract requirements.
- Escalating for further handling in the event of non-compliance.
- Negotiate contractual insurance provisions with third parties.
- Oversee contract and policy review related to insurance.
- Assist with making decisions that balance accepting reasonable levels of risk with protecting the Company's assets.
Investor Relations
- Coordinate investor calls/meetings including details of the call and developing the presentation materials, etc.
- Manage investor database and analyze investor data
- Manage investor website for content and investor communications with investors related to key announcements by BNSF (capital, 10 K and Q filings, etc.)
Financial Administration
- Annual/quarterly/monthly/weekly reporting, which may include reporting on investments, borrowings, benefit plans and the Finance Report
- Invoice review and payment
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic:
- Bachelor Degree or higher (finance, risk management or accounting or a business related field preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in finance or other business role
- Basic understanding of various financial theories and concepts such as NPV analysis
- Basic understanding of financial statements
- Strong communication and negotiating skills
- Successful candidate must have good Excel skills, be detail-oriented, well organized, self-motivated and able to multi-task
Preferred
- Working knowledge of SAP
