Overview
The AVP of Capital Markets Operational Risk Management will support risk management in the Capital Markets Division. This individual will be responsible for facilitating and monitoring the implementation of effective risk management practices by business units in the Capital Markets. The individual in this position will be instrumental to developing, implementing, and managing effective operational risk and the control monitoring system. This position will require interacting with various business partners across the enterprise.
Job Description

  • Assist in designing and reengineering process controls established to effectively manage operational risks, including assisting in control automation
  • Develop and manage the control monitoring and reporting system to support risk oversight in the Capital Markets Division
  • Design and execute control reviews and tests to ensure controls are in place, and operated by the business units as intended
  • Communicates control weakness to management in a timely manner
  • Offers strategic perspective on risk program development in support of existing and new business initiatives in Capital Markets
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are aligned with the organization's desired culture and value

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, or other applicable majors
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant, professional work experience in operational risk management or auditing environment
  • The capability of communicating and working with the IT team in process automation
  • The capability of developing and managing risk and a control monitoring system
  • Enthusiasm for crafting actionable solutions to mitigate operational risks and further improve the control environment
  • Attention to detail and excellent time management skills to deliver high-quality work for multiple projects across several client engagements, while meeting deadlines
  • Team player with strong attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Strong business acumen and sound business judgment
  • Collaborative work style, comfortable interfacing with Business Units and Executive Management
  • Proven track record delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and mathematical skills
  • Financial Services and/or mortgage industry experience preferred
