Role Summary
The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, interim forecasts, & corporate reporting. Assists Controller in compliance with internal & governmental regulations as well as corporate financial goals & policies.
Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepares departmental and capital budgets
  2. Prepares internal monthly and year-end financial statements and analysis
  3. Maintains & monitors capital expenditures
  4. Prepares annual insurance and property tax reports
  5. Prepares journal entries and coordinates close process
  6. Prepare account reconciliations & ensure accurate accruals are being held
  7. Prepares and analyzes all corporate monthly & quarterly schedules
  8. Monitors tooling & prototype program expenditures
  9. Responsible for creating/maintaining inventory parts & ensuring BOM is accurate
  10. Responsible for Fixed Asset accounting, including depreciation, asset additions & disposals
  11. Assists controller in regulations, financial policies and procedures
  12. Participates in continuous improvement activities, submits improvement suggestions.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance with a Master's degree preferred
Must be familiar with AS400 and CSM systems
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Manufacturing environment
Full understanding of standard costing systems
Ability to work with others in a team environment
Additional Information
Language Skills: Requires extensive tact and communication skills (verbal and written) for direct supplier communication . Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to communicate in both written and spoken English.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate basic math, understanding of decimals, ability to add, subtract and multiply Reasoning Skills: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use problem solving when presented with problems or duties that do not have immediate answers or results.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, proficient with CMS, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint) including ability to create spreadsheets.
Communication Skills : Ability to use active listening and assertive communication when needed. Ability to give positive and constructive criticism feedback effectively.
Problem Solving Skills: Understands and can apply 5 Why mythology, Skillful in analysis of problems, research to identify root causes and find solutions, creativity to find robust and effective solutions to problems. Able to make decisions based on available information.
