Eaton is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Beachwood, Ohio. Hybrid work schedule available, must live within a 50-mile radius from the Eaton office.

Position Overview:

In this role you will assist in the monthly close process and provide management with timely and accurate financial data that aids in the decision-making process. You will also analyze and correct financial data through use of various accounting systems. You will have broad exposure to the International Treasury Accounting team.

In this role you will:
  • Accounting responsibility for multiple corporate sites (US, Canada and Puerto Rico) including balance sheet and miscellaneous P/L transactions.
  • Review and analyze balance sheet reconciliations and miscellaneous P&L accounts monthly. Take on leadership role of account reconciliation review, including detailed analysis and follow up with the Controller, partnering with Pune GFSS to achieve objectives.
  • Assist in the correct recording of intercompany assets/liabilities and balancing of accounts with intercompany trading partners. Work effectively with intercompany trading partners to ensure invoices are issued and recorded correctly.
  • Analyze Treasury Center intercompany current account balances and work with counterparties on posting correct transactions.
  • Complete Financial Statements for Canada Electrical business to be used for tax filing purposes.
  • Assist with year-end schedules required by the Tax Department.
  • Comply with established internal and external accounting guidelines and requirements, including GAAP and internal controls, and ensure the integrity of ledgers is maintained.
  • Participate in financial accounting projects, providing technical guidance and ensuring proper US GAAP accounting
  • Partner with various corporate and operational cross-functional teams for the purpose of supplying or explaining data, providing advice on accounting matters or driving process improvements.
  • Serve as a liaison between Pune team and various corporate functions in US for which Pune team does accounting, ensuring clear communication and resolution in case of any issues or questions.
  • Support audit requests (both internal and external), Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and testing.
  • Partner with Treasury to assist with Quantum related accounting process and ad hoc requests.
  • Assist with analysis of foreign exchange impacts.
  • Assist with the recommendation, development, and implementation of process improvements in support of departmental goals.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution
  • 5 - 9 years accounting experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Proficient software and system skills (Oracle, SAP, FCCS, Quantum, Microsoft Office)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in a global environment
